Contactless curbside pickup is available for library materials. Please read these instructions carefully before ordering curbside service to ensure a safe experience for everyone.
1. Place place holds through our catalogue any time, or order books and DVDs by phone (613-258-4711), or email info@ngpl.ca :
- Between 10 am and 7 pm, Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
- Between 1 pm and 5 pm on Fridays.
- Between 10 am and 2 pm on Saturdays
For Burritts Rapids branch you can call place orders for books (613-269-3636), or email burritts@ngpl.ca :
- Between 10 am and 2 pm on Saturdays
2. A staff member will contact you when your items are ready to schedule your pick up time.
3. Picking up your order. Please follow the instructions below to ensure a safe experience for both staff and patrons.
- Park in the reserved pickup parking space (reservation post) in the rear parking lot of the library.
- Call us from your car when you arrive, or, if you have no phone, ring the bell at the side entrance and return to your car.
- Ensure that your trunk is open, or if you have no trunk, that your furthest passenger side window is open.
- Remain in your vehicle. A staff member will come out and place your book bag in your trunk, or if you have no trunk space, through a back window. You will close your own trunk (with some possible exceptions, ie. mobility issues).
- If you are on foot:
- Ring the bell and step back three meters from the door.
- Wait until your materials have been placed outside the door by a staff member.
- Once the door is closed, retrieve your bag.
If you don’t know what you want you can also fill out a recommendation request form, or email us at info@ngpl.ca. We are happy to offer suggestions for reading, and will also offer grab bags for kids based on their age and favourite genres.
