Programs & Events for Kids

Registration for Children’s Spring Programs is now open!   Click here to register.

All registration is online.  Should you require internet access, dedicated computers will be available for registration purposes only at the library, 1 Water St, Kemptville.
Parents or Caregivers will receive an email confirmation within 1 week of registering which will complete the process.

Please note:
Children’s Programming is open to the children of Parent or Caregivers who hold  a valid North Grenville Public Library card.  Children and babies must have their own cards.

Registration Required:

Getting Ready for Kindergarten

Date: Mondays* or Tuesdays, March 26th to May 22nd @ 10-11am

Registration: Required

Building on literacy skills for Kindergarten.  Parent or Caregiver must remain in the building during the class.  Children need to have turned 3 by December 31,  2017 and must be eligible for junior kindergarten in Ontario in September 2018.

*no class Apr 2 or May 21st.
Limit 13 children

Reading Buddies

Date: Thursdays, March 29th – May 24th, 3:30 – 5pm
Registration: Required

Children ages JK to grade 8 are paired with high school volunteers for reading help in English and French in 3 time slots, 3:30, 4:00 or 4:30pm.
Limit 20 children

After School Spring Crafts

Date: Monday, May 14th, 4-5:30pm  
Registration: Required

Create some fun spring crafts with Library Sue.
Ages 5-8, Limit 15 children

Sarah’s Circle

Date: Mondays* or Tuesdays, March 26th to May 21st @ 11am
Registration: Not required, Please pick up your numbered ticket at the front desk

Our popular preschool program continues with songs, stories and activities.
An early literacy program for children and their caregivers/parents.
For children ages 0-5.
Limit 20 children
*No class Monday, Apr 2 or May 21st

Friday Fun Days

Date: Friday’s, April 6th to June 1st,  10 – 11am.
Registration: Not required, Please pick up your numbered ticket at the front desk

Join Library Sue for story time. This program is a family event and children must participate with parent or caregiver.  First Friday of the month will be French Friday.
For ages 0-5.
Limit 20 children


Drop In – No Registration Required

Juice Jam

Date: Saturday, April 7th and May 5th @ 11am
Registration: not required

Kerry and Sue Badgley entertain children with an hour of music and movement.

Family Lego Build Morning – March Break!

Date: Monday, March 12th, 10am – 11:30
Registration: not required

Bring the whole family and imagine and explore with this Lego Build event.  Coffee, juice and refreshments served.
All ages!

Bedtime Story Hour

Date: Tuesday,  March 20th, April 17th, May 15th & June 19th.  6:30-7:30pm.
Registration: not required

Come to the Library dressed in your PJ’s and bring a favourite stuffed toy for an hour of stories and snack!
