Programs & Events for Kids

Registration for Children’s Spring Programming is now open.  Click here to register.

All registration is online.  Should you require internet access, dedicated computers will be available for registration purposes only at the library, 1 Water St, Kemptville.
Parents or Caregivers will receive an email confirmation within 1 week of registering which will complete the process.

Please note:
Children’s Programming is open to the children of Parent or Caregivers who hold a valid North Grenville Public Library card.  Children and babies must have their own cards.

Registration Required:

Getting Ready for Kindergarten

Date: Mondays* March 18- May 13 10-11 am. 
Tuesday’s March 19 – May 14  10-11am.
Registration: Required
Children must turn 4 by December 31, and be eligible to attend junior kindergarten in Ontario in September 2019.
Limit of 12 children per class. Parents must remain in the Library.
Children will experience fun and learning in a safe and caring environment.  They will work toward acquiring essential skills to help transition to a school environment.
Graduations will be celebrated Tuesday, May 21st for Tuesdays group and Mondays group celebrates Monday, May 27th.

Reading Buddies

Date: Thursday’s March 21 – May 16
Three time slots: 3:30, 4:00 & 4:30.
Registration: Required
Children are paired with high school volunteers to gain reading proficiency and confidence. JK to grade 8, English and French.

Sarah’s Circle

Date: Mondays*, March 18 – May 27 11am-12pm
Registration: not required. Please pick up your numbered ticket at the front desk

Our popular preschool program with songs, stories and activities.
An early literacy program for children and their caregivers/parents.
For children ages 0-5.
Limit 20 children

*no class on Monday, April 22 or May 20th 

Friday Fun Days

Date: Fridays*, March 22- May 31,  10 – 11am
Registration: not required. Please pick up your numbered ticket at the front desk

Join Library Sue for our popular drop in story time. This program is a family event and children must participate with parent or caregiver. The 1st Friday of every month is French Friday.
For ages 0-5.
Limit 20 children

Drop In – No Registration Required

Stay, Play, Learn and Grow @ your Library

Date: Tuesdays March 19 – May 28, 11am-12pm
Registration: not required. 

The program room will be full of games, puzzles, toys, blocks and trains for us to learn, grow and explore together.
For ages 1-5 Limit 20 children.

After School Series

Chess and Monopoly
Date: Monday, March 25, 3:30-5pm

Have a great afternoon with some classic games.

Spring Stroll 
Date: Monday, May 13  @ 4pm

Join Library Sue at the Settler’s Grant Trail Head.  Bring your bike or walk this scenic trail and enjoy a fresh new season.

Bedtime Story Hour

Date: Tuesday,  March 19, April 16, May 21  6:30-7:30pm.
Registration: not required

Come to the Library dressed in your PJ’s and bring a favourite stuffed toy for an hour of stories and bedtime snack!

Juice Jam
