Fall Programming   

All programs require registration. Absolutely no drop ins please. 

Due to the overwhelming demand for programming, and extremely limited spaces, we ask that you register for one activity only.   ie. Sarah’s Circle  OR  Getting Ready for Kindergarten.  Thank you for your understanding. 

Register for our Outdoor Series please email and send your choice of program, day and time. All outdoor programming is offered  weather permitting.   Bring a blanket to sit on!

Pleases note: Programming is dependent upon provincial directives and may change with little notice.  We ask that you complete a health self assessment for each participant in your family group before attending. 
Masks are required for all in house programming for all participants ages 2+.   Please ensure safe physical distancing at all times.  

Outdoor Activities  

Story Time in the Park – Riverside Park

Mondays and Tuesdays @ 10-10:45 am or @ 11-11:45 am

We will enjoy stories, songs and literacy building games!  Dress warmly and bring something to sit on.

Twinkle Little Stars in the Park

Friday, September 10th to Friday, October 8th* @ 11-11:45 am 

Babies 0-15 months and their parents / caregivers

There will be lots of singing, rhyming, bouncing and fun!

Limit of 6 families

Our popular drop in preschool program includes lots of stories, songs, and fun early learning games.

Getting Ready for Kindergarten  

Monday, October 18th to Monday, December 13 @ 10 to 10:50 am

A program designed to help children develop some of the skills needed to make a successful transition to the classroom. Children participate on their own during sessions.

New this year:  GRK will be offered in three “semesters”: Fall, Winter and Spring. Your child may attend ONE of these three sessions, and will graduate when completed. 

Must have turned 3 by July 1st, 2021 and be eligible to attend Kindergarten in Ontario in Fall 2022.
Limit 8 children per session

Twinkle Little Stars 

Friday, October 15th to Friday, December 10th  @ 10-10:45 am or 11-11:45 am

Our popular baby program moves indoors this fall.   Join Library Sue for lots of songs, rhyming, bouncing and fun!

For babies 0-15 months. Limit 9 participants per session

After-School Activities

Ages 7 and up. Limit 9 participants per group.

Virtual Bingo 
Participants can print out their own bingo card and follow along online. We will call 8 numbers a day until… BINGO!!

Word Walk 
Laminated cards, each with a word, will be placed on trees on the Kinderwood Trail. Families can take the walk during a two-week period, copy down the words they see and make a sentence using the words they find. Sentences can be submitted for posting on our website and Facebook page and there will be prizes for the best ones, email to Library Sue.

I Spy North Grenville
Fun for families! Library Sue has put together a collection of random places within North Grenville. Try to find the location of each picture!  Participate all summer and we’ll supply the answer sheet online at the end of the challenge. Click here for your picture sheet!

Sam’s Annual Fishing Derby

Sam’s Fishing Derby is an annual event that happens at the end of June, where children of all ages gather at Salamander’s dock for a catch and release fishing derby. Participants bring their fishing rods and we supply the worms! The event is followed by a free BBQ on the NGPL patio, hosted by the family of Sam Tobias and the North Grenville Public Library. In exchange for a burger, participants contribute what they can to Sam’s Children’s Book Collection at the library, in honour Sam and his love of books and fishing.

Reading Buddies
Thursday afternoons 3:45 to 5:15 pm (3 time slots – 3:45, 4:15, and 4:45 pm)
We pair up elementary school children with high school volunteers for reading proficiency and confidence, in English and French!

Our popular Friday Drop-in Program for children 0-4 and their caregivers.

Stay, Learn and Play @ the Library
Tuesdays 11 am to 12 pm
All the toys, and learning activities will be out. Seasonal activities and exploration as well!
