You’re going to Kindergarten? How exciting! Come join Miss Caitlin for a preview of the Kindergarten experience. Getting Ready for Kindergarten is a school readiness program for children who will be attending school in September 2024. Stories, songs, rhymes and play-based learning centres will focus on the development of literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional skills. For the start of the Fall session, parents are encouraged to attend with their child. As the program progresses, children can attend the program independently of their caregiver, who must remain in the library at all times.

Join NG Pride for Glittery Crafternoons!!!

A safe public space for 2SLGBTQIA+, open to all ages, of which allies, family, and friends of the 2SLGBTQIA+ are welcome.

A free drop-in to help people of different ages share community, crafts and space to combat isolation and foster healthy lasting relationships within our community. Join other crafty people to share casual conversation and your crafts with one another. It is not a class; NG Pride doesn’t plan on teaching.

People are expected to bring a craft that will hold their focus for the duration of the session, things like knitting, sketching, crocheting, and needlework – portable non-messy projects of all sorts, that each person brings with them and works on individually.

*All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Annual Programs

Sam’s Annual Fishing Derby

Sam’s Fishing Derby is an annual event that happens at the end of June, where children of all ages gather at Salamander’s dock for a catch-and-release fishing derby. Participants bring their fishing rods and we supply the worms! The event is followed by a free BBQ or breakfast bar on the NGPL patio, hosted by the family of Sam Tobias and the North Grenville Public Library. During the fishing derby, participants contribute what they can to Sam’s Children’s Book Collection at the library, in honour of Sam and his love of books and fishing.

Please see our donation page for details on how you can contribute and help grow this wonderful collection of books!
