Make an Item Donation
The Library accepts donations of gently used books, DVDs and puzzles. Please consult this document before contacting us or bringing your donations to the library. Items that are not selected to be added to the collection are added to our in-house book sale, which raises funds to purchase new books.
We are so thankful to our partner, the Conseil des écoles publiques de l’Est de l’Ontario (CEPEO), for its generous donation toward building our French collection for children and youth, in support of our growing Francophone community of North Grenville.
Volunteers play an important role at our library. The volunteer program creates rewarding opportunities for individuals to perform a valuable service to the community. Our volunteer policy outlines the policies and procedures. For anyone interested in volunteering please submit an application to the library.
Support Sarah’s Corner
Sarah’s Corner is the name we have given to the children’s area overlooking the river and garden. Sarah’s Circle is a pre-school program offered, free of charge, to parents, caregivers and their young children. It is designed to introduce young children to reading and libraries. Sarah’s Corner and Circle are named after Sarah Badgley, who died in an automobile accident in the summer of 2001. Her parents Sue and Kerry requested that donations in her memory be given to the development of children’s programs at the Library. Make your donation online or contact firstname.lastname@example.org / 613-258-4711 for more information on how you can donate to Sarah’s Circle. The Badgleys are also hosts of our popular Saturday program Juice Jam.
Sam Tobias was a Kemptville boy who loved to challenge his dad to see who could catch the most fish. Sam spent much cherished time at Sarah’s Circle at the library, and borrowing books. Sam died at eight years of age from a rare genetic brain disease. He is remembered dearly by the community and through his collection, his love of books lives on. An annual fishing derby is held in his memory, raising funds to purchase books for “Sam’s Collection”. Donations are gratefully accepted; whether by cheque or via the NGPL’s CanadaHelps page, please note that your donation is for “Sam’s Collection” Fund.
