French Conversation Group for Adults

For beginners with some basics & intermediate speakers.

Looking to dust off your French, build confidence, and actually use the language in a friendly setting? Join our new Adult French Conversation Group — a relaxed, supportive space to practice speaking with others.

This is not a  French class. Instead, it’s a chance for adults who already have some knowledge of French—from basic to intermediate—to chat, listen, and grow more comfortable expressing themselves.

Whether you’re hoping to travel, reconnect with the language, or simply keep your skills fresh, this group offers a fun and welcoming way to practice.

Come say bonjour, meet new people, and enjoy real conversation en français.

Youngsters of Yore

Date: Thursdays from 2:00 pm – 3:30 pm | Ongoing

The Youngsters of Yore meet every Thursday afternoon at the Library. This group is run by some of our Friends of the Library volunteers. Each week there is a guest speaker and refreshments are served.

Each session features engaging, bite‑sized presentations on fascinating topics — from physics and fungi to black holes, bees, and all the delightful oddities in between.

Come to listen, learn, and connect with fellow curious minds. Whether you’re a lifelong science fan or just love discovering something new, every Nerd Night promises something surprising, thought‑provoking, and fun.

Bring your curiosity. We’ll bring the screen, sound, and the space to nerd out together.

To express your interest in presenting a topic, please e-mail your idea to Caitlin at cthorne@ngpl.ca.
